Online Defensive Driving Course

 

Southeast Regional Driving and Safety Academy is now offering a 6-hour Online Driver Improvement/Defensive Driving Course.

 

Ticket Dismissal and Downgrading a Traffic Ticket

In response to the decision of many courts in Georgia under pre-trial diversion practices to accept a completion certificate from an online provider for ticket dismissal or downgrading of a traffic ticket. Our online course features the same curriculum taught by licensed and approved Georgia Department of Driver Services classroom programs and is written specifically to review Georgia traffic law, rules and regulations.

 

Currently, courts in Georgia are not required to accept online completion certificates, so it is your responsibility to determine if a court will accept an online completion certificate. Many police officers may tell you that their Court will accept an online certificate. If you are not certain, contact the Court Clerk to verify that our Online Driver Improvement Course will satisfy the judge's requirements for ticket dismissal.

 

Insurance Premium Discounts

Under current Georgia law, individuals 25 years of age or older with a clean driving record for the past 3 years can take a 6-hour defensive driving course and obtain a minimum 10% discount on their insurance premium for the next 3 years. Check with your insurance company to determine if our Online Completion Certificate will provide you with the 10% insurance premium discount.

 

What the Course Will Not Satisfy

At this time, an online completion certificate will not be accepted by the Georgia Department of Driver Services for Point Reduction or Driver's License Restoration.
